911 and Porsche World magazine invited Cup 1 Motorsport to Silverstone today as part of a media article pitching the 993 against rival club championship cars the 968 and the 964.

Tony Dron, ex Porsche works Le Mans racer was on hand to test all 3 cars and will be writing an article on their merits in the coming weeks.

Ben Demetriou and Marcus Carniel provided the other 2 vehicles, making for an excellent morning, with the rain just about holding off long enough for a successful few laps and a photoshoot.

Tony was very complimentary about the 993, finding it very rewarding to drive, so much so that he wanted to push for a fastest lap, forgetting we were running track day rules (no timing!!).

This was to be the final event of 2009 for the 993. It will now have the graphics removed and put back to black ready for the 2010 season.
